Multi-Lap Night Run Course Info

The Multi-Lap night Run will head into the trails for a 2.5km loop, heading through the tunnel under Wairakei Drive where you’ll then head onto Express Delivery up to the Craters carpark.

On your way back, you’ll be winding your way through Tourist Trap. When you you arrive back at the festival village, you’ll either continue back onto the trails to do the loop again or enter the relay zone and tag your team mate.

START INFORMATION

7.15pm – safety briefing at the start line - please be there

7.30pm – start

COURSE MARKINGS

For the majority of the course, the tracks to follow are well established and obvious. However, when you need to turn off those tracks, you must follow all course signs and directions.  Please follow the directions of marshals on course too. There is a two-way section of approximately 400m.

The course is marked with blue arrows showing the direction to run/walk and blue ribbons with refletive tape hanging from trees along your route. You will also see pieces of ribbon on the ground crossing a track/trail, do not cross these.

You may head out for a final lap if you leave the turn point at the relay zone BEFORE the 9.30pm cut off. If more than one team/person are tied on the number of laps, the winner will be the team/person who runs the final lap the fastest!

FINISHLINE

Cut off time for the Multi-Lap night Run is 2 hours, 9.30pm

When you have finished your final lap you get to run up the finish line to collect your medal/s. We will have a drinks station here. Each participant can grab themselves a free cold Speight’s (over 18s!) or a non alcoholic beverage (thanks to Clean Collective) after you finish, head to the Festival Bar to grab one of these.

LIGHTS

We highly recommend you bring a headlight or torch, it will be dark and trails by nature are not a smooth surface! We also encourage dressing up, glow sticks and/or fairy lights are always popular choices.

AID STATIONS

There will be an aid station at the relay team change over point containing water, R-Line, bananas, chips, and lollies

FIRST AID

The course will have roving marshals and first aid. If you come across an injured person check they are ok, send someone forward to the next marshal for help. All marshals are in radio/phone contact with the Course Manager and medics from PEAK Safety. Anyone unable to finish the course will be transported back to the finish by Total Sport course crew.

First Aid is also provided by Peak Safety at the finish line.

We couldn’t do it without these absolute legends!

It’s really simple, these events don’t happen without the commitment and support of a whole bunch of cool people, and organisations that share the vision of what we are trying to achieve. We are so grateful to those who got on board, and believe, like we do, the benefits of getting people into the outdoors and nature - and for their support of Total Sport. Some of these partners have been with us for a very long time, and feel like family, and some are newbies. Please support them wherever you can, as their support enables us to do what we do, which means you get to do what you love to do - everyone wins!!
